DATURA is funded by the European & Developing Countries Clinical Trials Partnership (EDCTP) and the French Agency for Research on AIDS and Viral Hepatitis (ANRS).

EDCTP is a public-public partnership between institutions mandated by national governments in Europe and sub-Saharan Africa and supported by the European Union.
EDTCP supports different kind of activities. DATURA is a Research & Innovation Action (RIA). RIA involve multi-centre clinical trials that are conducted by research consortia involving both European and African research teams, with integrated capacity development and networking elements.
Key EDTCP dates for DATURA:
- Starting date: 1 May 2020
- First Year Report: 1 May 2020-30 April 2021 due 30 June 2021
- The project will report to EDCTP annually.
