Dr. Muzoora is a leading HIV physician-scientist with formal training in clinical research. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Medicine (MBChB) and a Masters Degree in Internal Medicine (MMED) from Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST). He also attended a 1 year credit bearing program of Advanced Training in Clinical Research (ATCR) at University of California San Francisco. He has been involved in HIV care for the last 18 years with special interest in tuberculosis and cryptococol meningitis. He jointly runs the TB HIV clinic and the infectious disease unit of the Medical ward at Mbarara regional referral hospital. His main research goals have been in the improving the diagnosis of Tuberculosis especially in HIV infected patients and the improvement of treatment for HIV associated cryptococol meningitis. He has conducted four international clinical trials involving cryptococcal meningitis and several other projects in HIV and TB. As a result of his expertise, he was invited as by the World Health Organisation to participate in the development of the guidelines for management of Cryptococol meningitis in 2011. Dr Conrad has published over 90 papers in the above areas and others.
